Awards Uh - okay, I don't think that these people exist anymore. But, man - when they did, they loved me. Go me! I am really happy to announce that thecanadapage.org has been declared a recipient of CTV Digital Desk's "You Hit the Mark" Award! I am honestly really flattered and proud to have won an award that recognizes Canadian web pages. Digital Desk has been nothing short of fantastic in covering my web page and I am eternally grateful to them. Thanks guys! (Ps: I got to pick the size of the award. Naturally, I picked the biggest :-D) In 1999, the organization/conference that inspired me to make this page in the first place, Forum For Young Canadians, gave me a "Top of the Hill Award." Needless to say, I was very pleased. (I'd like to thank the academy... I mean Alumni...) June 2001: I have been nominated as a Top Canadian site by oCanadians. A great site with awesome links (and not just because they nominated me....)
MEDIA On March 20, 1999, the National Post wrote up a small feature on my web page which was, needless to say - a boost to the ego. It was the first recognition that my page had received and it included a favourable review of some of the more humourous pages on the site. On July 2, 2000, Digital Desk featured thecanadapage.org as one of three Canadian web pages out there in cyber space. The people there do a great job of trying to promote Canadiana on the internet. On July 4, 2000, (how ironic), the Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper wrote a story about the site which spoke about how the page came about and what it is like to run the site. On July 5, 2000, CBC's Ontario Morning did an interview with me about the site. Again the interview was mostly about how the page came about, why I do it and what it involves. (They are super nice over there too.) Summer 2000, I have done an interview with the Queen's radio station CFRC and The Durham Post, will be doing an article on the website! From my home town of the 'Shwa. I am not sure when either will be appearing - but keep your eyes and ears peeled!
